About Disease-State PBMC

Coronavirus (SARS-CoV2) PBMC: Whether you’re studying the pathology of COVID-19 or investigating potential vaccines or treatments, PBMC from confirmed COVID-19 patients are the best starting material for your research. Our COVID-19 PBMC are confirmed to be antibody positive and virus negative. We can match COVID-19 PBMC with serum or plasma from the same donor upon request.

SLE PBMC: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease with no known cause or cure. SLE is difficult to diagnose, but the presence of antibodies to DNA and nuclear antigens is characteristic. We offer cells and plasma from donors with SLE for research into this immune system disease. As with all our PBMC, cells are tested for viability and response to recall antigens. Refer to the Certificates of Analysis for information on donor medications, autoantibodies, and dates of diagnosis.

RA PBMC: Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune inflammatory disease affecting 1.3 million Americans where immune cells invade joints secreting cytokines that cause swelling and pain. The chronic inflammatory process causes thickening of the synovium with eventual loss of joint mobility. Our scientists have isolated PBMC from the peripheral blood of people with RA to assist research into this debilitating disease. Each lot is tested for viability and function. Plasma samples are also available for some lots of PBMC. Refer to the Certificates of Analysis for information on past and current donor medications, along with when they have experienced disease flares.

Type 1 Diabetes PBMC: Type 1 diabetes, characterized by the loss of beta cells in the pancreas, affects approximately 1.25 million Americans. That number is expected to rise dramatically to 5 million by 2050. When these beta cells die, production of insulin declines and blood glucose levels increase uncontrollably. The death of these beta cells is widely believed to be the result of an autoimmune process and researchers have discovered T cells and antibodies directed against beta cell antigens in people with type 1 diabetes. We have T1D PBMC and related antigen-specific T cells for studying diabetes.

Other Autoimmune Disease PBMC: We also collect PBMC from donors with other autoimmune diseases. We isolate PBMC from heparinized peripheral blood, unless otherwise noted, and check all cells for viability and recall antigen responses after thawing to ensue you receive viable, functional cells. Refer to the Certificates of Analysis for information on donor medications and diagnosis.

Our growing list of autoimmune disease PBMC includes Ankylosing Spondylitis, Celiac Disease, Coronavirus (SARS-CoV2), Crohn’s Disease, Human Papillomavirus, Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Psoriasis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Scleroderma, Sjögren’s Syndrome, System Lupus Erythematosus, and Type 1 Diabetes.
