About Our Founders
Edward Scott

“As Cellero, we are positioned to support research and product development from basic science beginnings all the way through to provision of direct patient care — a unique position within the industry.”

Edward P. Scott, MD

Dr. Scott is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Transfusion Medicine and has deep experience leading blood centers and biological services organizations. From 1986 until 2009, he served as President and CEO of Mid-South Regional Blood Center (AKA Lifeblood) located in Memphis, TN. In 2005, Lifeblood Biological Services (LBS), originally created as a biotech support department within the blood center, became a wholly owned subsidiary and he assumed the additional roles of CEO and Medical Director of LBS. In 2009, he retired from the blood center and purchased the assets of LBS and transitioned them into Key Biologics.

Under his leadership, Key Biologics grew to become a leading supplier of biological products used by the cell and gene therapy worldwide. Key has provided critical raw materials used to manufacture products used in first-in-human clinical trials.

When Key Biologics merged with Astarte Biologics in 2018, Ed became the Chief Medical Officer of Cellero.

Anne Lodge

“It’s an exciting time to be an immunologist with cellular therapies and immuno-oncology offering hope for cures of cancer and other diseases.”

Anne Lodge, Ph.D.

After nearly a decade working on Investigational New Drug filings for an autologous dendritic cell vaccine, Anne put her rich background in immunology and cell-based therapeutics to the test by setting out on her own in 2004 to found Astarte Biologics, an immune cell product and research services provider.

The move proved to be successful, with Astarte growing over the course of 14 years to serve 17 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies in the world, more than 50 academic institutions, and countless biotech startups.

When Astarte Biologics merged with Key Biologics in 2018, Anne became the Chief Scientific Officer of Cellero.
